The servants do not speak, but they add action to the play.

The general  garb of a working class man of the middle ages was  followed.

Concept Sketch

The servant was dressed simply in a shirt, jerkin, breeches, hose and shirt.  .

Designer's Notes

The actors who played the servants also played other non-speaking parts in the play.  They had to change quickly into priest, soldier, henchman, and in one case a young Gabriel.  Their servants breeches had to show up (or be hidden) in many of these costumes.  So these costumes were constructed with more ease and elastic than the others.
