The Wedding Scene

The costumes in this scene are dark because they represent a marriage ceremony performed to "preserve the honor" of the woman who has been wronged by the man.  The actors all play other roles and these costumes had to be designed for quick changes.  Starting from the left, the young Gabriel is forcing the wedding.  The actor is hooded and masked and also plays a soldier.  Ines is the bride.  Her deep red wedding dress covers most of her regular costume.  The unwilling groom is the young Rodrigo who also plays Rodrigo's  son, Cesar.  His deep red robe was to represent a "dressing gown."   The priest also played a servant and a soldier.  The costumes that were covered are shown below.
