Teaching at Westminster College for the past 25 years has been both an honor and a privilege. Fortunately, I have had many wonderful students in my classes, and some of these associations have developed into long term friendships. My major goal has been to expose, encourage, and assist students to discover their own creativity. Personally I have chosen clay as my major material because it is inherently so "honest." It never lies to you, it only knows how to tell you the truth and it is extremely humble by nature. My main challenge is teaching students how to "read" and "listen" to the clay because all the answers are right in front of them. Iím extremely proud of the students who have exerted the time, energy, and patience to produce work that makes them happy with themselves.
