I moved from Tampa, Florida to teach at Westminster College. People asked me "Why move north?" One reason was that we wanted to be closer to our family, who live in the Northeast. A more important reason was that the Psychology Department's program was very strong, the facilities were great, and the faculty seemed very supportive of both students and other colleagues. I felt that it would be an excellent place to work as a professor.
What current issues do I face?
Both my husband and I work full-time, and we have a 3 year old daughter. The issues of support for working families and the need for quality child care are ones that concern us deeply.
